Tender Description
The University is searching for an appropriately experienced and inspired Design Team to assist them to create a new purpose-built biomedical facility The Australian Institute for Infectious Disease (AIID). This facility will be a world-leading facility to assist in the fight against infectious diseases and global health issues.
The University is running two EOI’s for the project at the same time:
1. Architectural Services & associated sub consultants for the Design of The Australian Institute for Infectious Disease (AIID) facility
2. Engineering Services for the Design of The Australian Institute for Infectious Disease (AIID) facility
This EOI is for Architectural Services and associated sub consultants. The University seeks a compliant response to its proposed structure and is open to alternate approaches on how the design team could be structured.
The University is looking for the best Design Team, with design strengths in:
Technical expertise
1. Biomedical facilities; PC2 & PC3 laboratories.
2. Workplace; co-location and engagement spaces
3. Whole of life design considerations: operators and research first, ongoing maintenance, value for money
4. Sustainability: energy efficiency and systems design approach
5. Regulatory and compliance requirements (Laboratory and Health)
Leadership:
6. Putting project first – best practice integrators of engineering and design strengths to create effective fit for intended purpose research and technical infrastructure
7. Leading the collaboration and co-ordination of complex projects
8. Constructive engagement with the University and stakeholders, providing best practice stakeholder engagement with how they interact with the University during the delivery of the project and how they address the needs of various stakeholders through the design phase.
9. Clear understanding of opportunities and challenges presented by the project and develop innovative solutions to address delivery of the vision.
