Tender Description

The District Council of Mount Remarkable (Council) announces the launch of the 2023/24 Community Assistance Grants Program (CAGP). The program is designed to provide support to local community groups and organizations that aim to enhance the wellbeing and connectedness of our district's residents. Mayor Stephen McCarthy expressed his enthusiasm for the program, saying, "The Community Assistance Grants Program is a testament to our commitment to the wellbeing and development of our community. Through this initiative, we empower local organizations to create positive change and foster a sense of togetherness. I encourage all eligible groups to take advantage of this opportunity." The CAGP seeks to foster a sense of wellbeing, promote collaboration among community stakeholders, and encourage innovative ideas and projects that will contribute to the betterment of our community. Through this program, Council aims to create a vibrant and inclusive community by supporting projects and activities that improve residents' quality of life and promote community engagement.

For the 2023/24 CAGP, a total of $27,600 is available for allocation. Eligible organizations can apply for a maximum funding amount of $5,000 (excluding GST). Applicants are encouraged to submit multiple applications if they have more than one eligible project.

It's important to note that funding is not guaranteed, as allocations will be determined through a competitive, merit-based process. The selection will prioritize projects that offer the most significant benefits to our community to the greatest number of residents.

Applications for the 2023/24 CAGP will open on 28 August 2023, and close at 9pm on November 1, 2023. Application forms can be downloaded from Council's website.

Applications will be assessed based on a set of Council approved criteria, including incorporation details (including the provision of audited 2022/23 financial statements), project details, and budgets. The weighted scores for all criteria will be used to determine the applicant’s ranking against the criteria. The criteria, as well as examples of eligible project and ineligible projects are contained with the CAGP guidelines.
