Tender Description
Infrastructure NSW’s purpose is creating a sustainable infrastructure legacy for NSW. We do this through expert advice, priority project delivery, oversight of the state’s infrastructure pipeline and precinct delivery.
Established in July 2011 under the Infrastructure NSW Act 2011, INSW provides independent advice to the NSW Government on the identification and prioritisation of critical public infrastructure.
With a head office located on Kent Street in Sydney’s CBD, there are also site offices located at major project locations including the new Sydney Fish Markets, and Powerhouse Paramatta.
A small agency that falls under the Treasury cluster, INSW has a headcount of approximately 200 employees, with over half of these at Executive level. As a result of the small headcount and seniority of staff, a high calibre of technology and associated support is required.
INSW has used a Managed Services Provider (MSP) for their Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for some years; its current MSP took over provision of its services and systems in 2019 on a contract that expires on 31 August 2024.
INSW needs high quality, innovative, state-of-the art technology, but doing this in-house would be inefficient given INSW’s size. Using an MSP allows INSW access to standardised and industry-common services - services common to other government departments and agencies as well as private sector organisations - with the cost-effectiveness and economy of scale not available to a small agency insourced team. This allows the internal IT team to focus on more bespoke lines of business or high touch / high quality services.
