Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking to appoint a Lead Contractor to undertake design and construction for the Williamstown Mechanics Institute Caretaker’s Cottage Restoration.
The scope of works includes the upgrade of the windows and building envelope, internal remodel of room layouts to allow accessibility, construction of a new accessible W/C, construction of a new kitchenette, reconstruction of verandas and installation and connection of services.
Majority of decorative heritage restoration is excluded from the scope and will be completed by volunteers. Major structural upgrades are excluded as the Cottage has previously undergone structural underpinning works.
A non-mandatory site inspection will be held on 20 May 2024 starting at 2:00pm and ending at 3:00pm. Tenderers are encouraged to register their attendance via eProcure and to join this briefing.
