Bellarine Bayside is seeking to engage a suitably qualified consultant team to undertake the development of a Strategic Management Plan and Priority Operational Plans for Point Richards Flora and Fauna Reserve.

The Strategic Management Plan will be the first time a holistic plan has been developed to establish the vision, objectives, strategic recommendations, providing guidance for the next 10-20 years. The plan will clearly articulate the environmental, cultural and social values of the reserve and key threats while acknowledging and addressing key climate, development and other social changes that will influence the future management of the reserve.

The four priority Operational Plans will provide more detail for priority themes, consolidating the tactics and management approaches detailing what and how they should be implemented over the next 5 years. These are targeted at an internal audience.

The Strategic Management Plan and Operational Plans will provide a comprehensive and evidence-based assessment of the needs and future management requirements for the reserve. The process will ensure that there is broad community and stakeholder input and support for the final directions of the SMP. This plan along with the Operational Plans will then provide Bellarine Bayside with the necessary information to guide future decision making, investment and management of the reserve.
