Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council (the Council) own and operate a Savanna Fire Management Project (“the Project”) which covers the entire extent of the Oriners-Sefton pastoral leases (“the Land”), which is approximately 300,000 hectares.

Our Project is listed as EOP 100959 and first commenced 22 January 2015. It covers the 3,061km2 (approx. 300,000 hectares) of savannah country, approx 60% of which supports vegetation types that are eligible for carbon farming activities. Since commencement in 2015 until the end of the 2023 season, the Project has been credited with approximately 230,000 ACCU’s. The price that each ACCU commands is determined by a range of factors, amongst which the most important are related to the project’s ability to demonstrate Indigenous authenticity and Indigenous benefit.

Council requires systematic evaluation of the potential benefits and risks of transition to the new method and LRF co-benefit agreement. Modelling and expert advice is sought in three broad areas:

1. Methodology
2. Co-benefit assurance
3. Financial Forecasting

Council is seeking quotations from suitably experienced suppliers to undertake the Works further described in Part A (Scope) as associated with these three (3) areas.
