Tender Description

CEnet is a not-for-profit, shared IT services organisation supporting Catholic diocesan education networks that connect school communities across NSW, Qld, the ACT and TAS and beyond. CEnet is jointly owned by a federation of sixteen (16) Catholic dioceses (the “Members” or “Member Dioceses”).

CEnet supports and manages a secure and robust shared applications and network infrastructure that delivers value-driven and standards-based ICT networking, internet access, data services, and the provision of web-based applications and curriculum resources to its Members. CEnet’s user population includes over 330,000 Kindergarten to Year 12 students, teachers and administrative staff across some 770+ Catholic schools.

CEnet’s current Web Content Filtering Service provides a safe Internet experience to its members’ staff and students, by protecting users from internet-based threats such as malware, spyware, botnets and trojans, as well as preventing them from accessing inappropriate material.

There is a need for CEnet to continue to deliver a safe-internet access solution to the membership for 2021 and beyond. It has also been recognised that market offerings in this space have evolved significantly.

The delivery of a safe-internet experience for CEnet member dioceses requires an approach that takes into account an end-to-end perspective; people, technology and processes. This includes consideration of the individual users, devices and connections in use, the locations (school/office/home), the content being consumed, digital citizenship, and just as importantly, the end-user experience.
