Tender Description
The Corporation of the Town of Walkerville (Council) invites Expressions of Interest from Registrants interested in entering into a long-term lease agreement over approximately 8,060m2 of Council owned land, for the purpose of the incoming lessee investing in and developing the Site to:
- maximise Site usage;
- provide greater community access to, engagement with and use of the Site; and
- address the capital and structural decline of the existing building(s) on the Site.
The subject Site is located between Smith Street and Fuller Street Walkerville (refer REOI documentation for further information).
While Council is of the position that the primary purpose of any development on the Site is to benefit the community, Council acknowledges that a commercial business / operation / activity may also be required to be established on the Site concurrently to ensure a redevelopment is feasible for all parties. Council is open to considering any proposal provided that any such commercial business / operation / activity is aligned with the envisaged uses of a Community Facilities Zone (namely the provision of a range of community, educational, recreational and health care facilities).
This REOI is open between 27 April 2021 and 22 June 2021 (inclusive).
