Tender Description

The opportunity

Ahpra in partnership with National Boards is exploring the establishment of a national multi-profession health support service. Ahpra is seeking responses to this RFP to identify a suitable service provider to develop and operate a national multi-profession health support service for registered health practitioners and students who may be experiencing health related issues or life stresses as outlined in Part A.2 – Specifications.

Over the past few years there has been interest from National Boards who do not currently have a support service in establishing a multi-profession service. The tender will explore various pricing options based on number of registrants. One option will include coverage of all registrants, however it should be noted that this does not necessarily mean that all National Boards will opt into the service.

Any agreement between Ahpra and the successful supplier to deliver the service will be subject to the decision of National Boards.  If a contract is executed with the successful supplier, funding for the development and delivery of the service will be provided by particpating National Boards.

The application period is open from 20 September 2022 and closes on 18 October 2022 AEDT.

About Ahpra

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) is the national organisation responsible for implementing the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme) across Australia.

Ahpra works in partnership with national health practitioner boards (National Boards) to ensure that the community has access to a safe health workforce across the 16 professions currently registered under the National Scheme. Every decision Ahpra and National Boards make is guided by the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as in force in each state and territory (the National Law).

Ahpra has an office in each state and territory responsible for the majority of operational matters and a national office in Melbourne. Ahpra reports to a Ministerial Council.  Ahpra supports the operations of the National Boards for each profession covered by the scheme, and the state and territory boards and committees established by the National Boards.

The services provided by Ahpra to the National Boards employ best practice approaches to regulation and cover registration functions, the management of a national public register of health practitioners, the handling of notifications on behalf of the Boards and, subject to decisions by states and territories, responsibility to the National Boards for the highest standards of professional investigations and disciplinary prosecutions.
