Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) invites expressions of interest from qualified entities for the operation of Hunter Valley Operations, encompassing the racetracks at The Gardens (Newcastle) and Muswellbrook. This opportunity arises from a strategic initiative to explore diversifying our venue operating models, enhancing financial sustainability and community engagement within the sport.

Background: GRNSW is exploring the operation of HVO through an 'Unrelated Third-Party' model. The successful operator will be instrumental in elevating the profile of greyhound racing in the Hunter region through enhanced racing, hospitality and event offerings while adhering to the highest standards of racing safety, animal welfare and operational excellence. Both venues are licenced, fully staffed, 'turnkey' operations, with long-established racing programmes and patronage.

Scope of Operations: The operator will be responsible for the complete management and operation of the two venues pursuant to a service level agreement (SLA) with GRNSW, which will include, but not be limited to:

-Racing safety and animal welfare standards as first-order priorities

-Staff transfer

-Venue improvement, activation, optimisation, diversification, and management

-Driving attendance and greyhound advocacy within the community

-Implementation of strategic and operational changes in line with GRNSW's directives

-Maintaining compliance with all regulatory and welfare standards

Financial Overview: The operation of HVO under the proposed model is intended to increase revenue through innovative practices and partnerships. A detailed financial impact summary and projections will be made available to interested parties during the EOI process.

Expression of Interest Submission: Interested parties are required to submit:

-A request for information pack, and a non-disclosure agreement

-A detailed proposal outlining their experience and capabilities in venue management, especially in sports, media, marketing, or event management.

-A strategic outline on how they intend to drive growth, broader community engagement and sustainability for HVO.

-Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to animal welfare and industry regulatory standards.
