A group of seven Eastern Adelaide Councils (Participating Councils) - Campbelltown City Council, City of Burnside, City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, City of Prospect, City of Unley, Town of Walkerville, and City of Tea Tree Gully - is seeking tenders from electricity retailers for the provision of a Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) backed by identifiable renewable energy projects located in South Australia. Together, these councils serve diverse residential and commercial areas, providing a wide range of community facilities and services across Adelaide's eastern suburbs.

With a combined annual electricity load in excess of 15.6GWh, this energy initiative aims to provide the seven Participating Councils with more predictable and lower energy costs over the long term. The resulting electricity supply agreement for each Participating Council will commence on 1 July 2025 and will last for a term of up to ten years.
