Tenders are invited for the supply and installation of shelving and related equipment and fixtures, and relocation of the library collection for Library+ Caloundra.

The former Caloundra administration building is being transformed into a state-of-the-art new district library and community space. Developed over three levels, it will include a contemporary district library, a customer service centre and community spaces.

The contract is present in five parts:

• Part 1 – Shelving

The supply and installation of library shelving, including single and double sided units, shelving shapers, specialised shelf types for identified collections.

• Part 2 – Custom items

The design, supply and installation of custom shelving, display and play elements, including display and tunnel pieces.

• Part 3 – Service pods

The design, supply and installation of service pods.

• Part 4 – Other items

The design, supply and installation of other items including cushions, ottomans, trolleys and bookends.

• Part 5 – Collection relocation

Services to relocate collection from the current Caloundra Library to Library+ Caloundra following the installation of shelving in parts 1 and 2.

Respondents can submit a tender for one (1), any or all of the Parts, but if tendering for Part 1 must also tender for Part 2, as Council intends to award Part 1 and Part 2 to one Respondent. Council reserves to right to award to one or more Respondents to ensure the supply of all required materials and services is achieved.

Anticipated contract award date is late February 2025 with the successful contractor/s to commence logistics works immediately. It is anticipated that contractor access to the site for parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be available in late May 2025. Completion of all Contractor works for Parts 1, 2 and 4 is required by 20 June 2025. Site access for Part 5 will be available upon completion of works for Parts 1, 2 and 4. Completion of Contractor works for parts 3 and 5 is required by 18 July 2025.

Project timelines may be affected by the works onsite, and this will be communicated with the contractor. Precise program overlays with the successful contractor(s) and Council will be necessary.
