Mansfield Shire Council is inviting submissions from experienced consultants with a proven record in developing recreational strategies that target increased participation in active recreation.

The successful consultant will establish a comprehensive 20-year strategic framework to guide investment, upgrades, and the sustainable management of well-designed, high-quality tracks and trails for pedestrians, cyclists, and horse-riders across Mansfield Shire, extending into the Alpine Resorts (Mt Buller and Mt Stirling). The goal is to expand opportunities for active recreation throughout the region.

To accomplish this, the Mansfield Shire Tracks and Trails Strategy 2025-2045 will be developed.

This strategy will assess the current state of the recreational tracks and trails network, identify key issues and opportunities, and evaluate economic benefits for local businesses and the community to establish a clear strategic direction. The Strategy will develop an implementation plan prioritising actions, including timelines, cost estimates, potential funding sources, and measurable outcomes.
