Tender Description

The Penguin to Ulverstone shared pathway link is one of the last remaining sections of the North West Coastal Shared Pathway between Wynyard and Latrobe and the last remaining section in the Central Coast municipality where no pathway exists at all. This section extends eastward from the current shared pathway at Watcombe Beach in Penguin, near Seaside Crescent, to the recently completed pathway through West Ulverstone ending at Rockliffs Road.

The section is approximately 5.2km in length, with around 800m at the western end to upgrade an existing narrow footpath. The completion of this section will provide a continuous off-road pathway of over 30km in Central Coast.

Council has secured a grant for a feasibility study for this section through the Better Active Transport in Tasmania fund. The funding application for the study was based on engagement of a consultant to provide a detail survey along the entire length of the section, boundary compilation to ensure any possible land acquisition is identified, concept design options on the southern side of the road and an estimate of cost for the concepts.

The Council is seeking tender submissions from suitably qualified survey/engineering consultants to provide survey, detailed design and drawings, cost estimation and provision of a feasibility study report.

Full details and tender documents can be downloaded from this site at no charge.

Tenders close at 2.00pm AEST on Friday, 17 January 2025 and submissions must be fully received by this time.

Tender enquiries should be directed via the online forum.
