Tender Description
We need a suitably qualified contractor to deliver the specified seismic strengthening upgrades in full. This will include reporting to the Meridian PM, Lead Engineer and Site Owner. An external structural and fire engineer are already engaged by Meridian for design, building consent, and construction reviews.
The physical works in scope are:
1. Replacement of bracing wall linings in the south wing, ground floor areas (dining, kitchen, hallway, office)
2. Closure of 1no. window in room no. 24, on the first floor, north-east corner.
3. Demolition of the existing central chimney, to above ground level and installation of the replacement structure
4. All other specified strengthening / structure replacement works in the ground and first floor lounge areas
5. Management, removal and disposal of all waste materials from the site (in Fiordland National Park)
We need a lead contractor who can provide full construction services to completion, including:
1. All specified seismic strengthening works
2. Supply of all required materials to site (via Meridian barge across lake Manapouri) min 2 weeks before the related physical works
3. Pre-works planning, Risk & Cost Assurance, Job Safety Analysis & Safe Work Method Statement
4. Appropriate standard of Environmental / H&S / Risk / Asbestos Management Plan
5. Programme management, with options for accelerated delivery (reduced time/impact on lodge operations)
6. Construction Project Management services, including coordination and supervision of all trades on site, with input from a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP)
7. Appropriate evidence / records of work (before/during/after photos) and progress reporting
8. All relevant QA and testing, for submission to the Meridian engineer(s), for the PS4 by the Structural Engineer
9. Safe removal and disposal of all waste material from site, including asbestos (within Fiordland National Park).
10. As built drawings, certificates, handover documentation, manuals and warranties.
At completion, the building must achieve a minimum New Building Standard (NBS) score of least 67% (Grade B), to be confirmed by the Meridian appointed engineer.
Out of Scope:
- Building Consent (Meridian managing)
- Significant, specialist asbestos testing or removal services (if required)
