Tender Description
Garden organics waste is received from customers at Council Waste Facilities or generated by Parks & Gardens (P&G) service activities. By processing the green waste to produce mulch disposal to landfill is avoided. Mulch is then available for sales to customers, for use in environmental management across Council Waste sites, and for use by P&G for reapplication in their activities e.g. landscaping. The Contract Services assists Council in recovery and beneficial use of resources.
The services required within this contract are listed below with full details contained within the Service Specification, Schedule 5.
It is a new requirement of this contract that Mulch is to be removed from Sites at the direction of Council.
• Removal of Contaminants from the stockpiled Garden Organics prior to processing.
• Shearing of Over-Sized Material to prepare for processing into Mulched Material.
• Processing of Garden Organics to produce a consistent, high quality Mulched Material.
• Trommel screening of material within certain Parks and Gardens locations.
• Re-location of Mulched Material within a Site; and Removal of Mulched Material from Sites as required.
• Provision of Contractor Personnel and Contractor Equipment to process the Garden Organics.
This is a schedule of rates contract, commencing on 1 May 2025 and expiring 30 April 2027, with an extension option of two (2) further extension options, each of 12 months, at Council’s sole discretion.
An information session will be held at 171 Pierce Avenue, Caloundra on 30 January 2025 at 8am. Respondents are required to register for this session, details are provided in Schedule 2 .
