The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) requires the provision of both comprehensive Security Operations Centre (SOC) and professional services to enhance cybersecurity maturity and operational resilience across the department.

DCCEEW delivers a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of its staff, including Canberra-based employees, regional and remote operational teams, and specialised groups such as the Australian Antarctic Division and National Parks staff.

The department operates an IT environment that includes a mix of cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure. This hybrid infrastructure supports departmental operations across geographically dispersed locations, including office-based staff, field workers, and remote teams.

DCCEEW supports multiple networks operating at both Unclassified and Protected levels. These networks are essential for managing departmental operations and ensuring secure communication and data handling across its varied activities.

To ensure the security and resilience of its infrastructure, DCCEEW is seeking a partner to deliver tailored SOC services. This SOC partnership will involve working closely with existing operational teams to uplift cybersecurity capabilities, refine tools and processes, and support Cyber and overall operational maturity.

The department’s approach aims to enhance SOC operations with minimal disruption and a focused scope, while increasing its capabilities and maturity. This will start with a discovery phase to evaluate current operations, followed by targeted improvements to services. The supplier will collaborate with internal Business-as-Usual (BAU) teams to refine processes, strengthen threat intelligence integration, and expand SOC coverage, ultimately ensuring a more robust and sustainable cybersecurity function.
